WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Julia Letlow voted in support of legislation to block the implementation of a natural gas tax passed under President Biden and finalized near the end of his time in office.

The Waste Emissions Charge (WEC) imposes heavy regulatory burdens on oil and gas facilities, threatening higher energy prices for Louisiana families and greater dependence on foreign oil.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – In the wake of recent natural disasters causing severe damage to Louisiana’s timber economy, Congresswoman Julia Letlow has introduced legislation adding improvements to disaster relief programs for forest landowners.

Over a three-month period in late 2023, wildfires burned more than 60,000 acres of prime forest land in Louisiana, causing evacuations and severe damage to timber operations.

The Social Security Fairness Act would eliminate the unfair, bureaucratic Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and Government Pension Offset (GPO), which reduce earned retirement benefits for millions of public servants across the country.
