Letlow Secures Funding for Safety Improvements at Hammond Airport
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Julia Letlow has delivered $2.2 million in Community Project Funding to support aviation infrastructure improvements at the Hammond Northshore Regional Airport.
The funding passed as part of the FY 2026 transportation funding bill, which cleared Congress on Tuesday and was signed into law by President Trump. The funding will be used to extend the primary runway, improving safety while increasing capacity for larger and more varied aircraft.
“I’ve worked throughout my time in Congress to support improvements to the Hammond airport, an exceptional facility that creates economic activity in Tangipahoa Parish,” said Congresswoman Julia Letlow. “With this targeted support, the primary runway will receive a much needed extension - improving safety for pilots and passengers while increasing capacity for larger aircraft. I will continue to use my seat on the Appropriations Committee to deliver for Hammond and the Florida Parishes.”
