Letlow Secures $2 Million for Baton Rouge Water Infrastructure

January 16, 2026

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Julia Letlow has secured $2 million in Community Project Funding to support Baton Rouge’s water infrastructure and flood prevention efforts.

The sizable investment will improve local infrastructure by treating and restoring drainage channels and reducing sediment runoff during extreme weather events. The funding passed as part of the FY 2026 Interior and Environment Appropriations bill which cleared Congress on Thursday, and will be administered by the City of Baton Rouge.

“Safe water channels are crucial to supporting a growing community like Baton Rouge. This funding will enhance water management while providing long-term savings through lasting infrastructure improvements,” said Congresswoman Julia Letlow. “I will continue using my role on the Appropriations Committee to deliver wins for Baton Rouge and the Capital Region.”
