Letlow Leads Effort To Get The Delta Regional Authority Running Again

September 10, 2021

MONROE(September 10, 2021) – Congresswoman Julia Letlow (LA-05) today led a group of 12 colleagues asking President Joe Biden to prioritize filling the Delta Regional Authority’s top leadership positions. Since the Administration took office in January, the DRA has been unable to distribute millions in grant funding with these key positions vacant. The Members sent a letter to the President, requesting the swift appointment of either a Federal Co-Chair or Alternate Federal Co-Chair.

“DRA stands ready to award approximately $33 million in total grant funding. These programs provide vital resources for physical and human infrastructure improvements across the eight state Delta region,” the letter states. “It is essential that these funds be allocated in a timely manner to ensure our communities can proceed with projects that provide for job creation to rebuild and strengthen communities, especially as we move past the COVID-19 pandemic.”

In addition to Congresswoman Letlow, signatories of the letter include; Congressman Garret Graves (LA-06), Congressman Mike Johnson (LA-04), Congressman Clay Higgins (LA-03), Congressman Steven Palazzo (MS-04), Congressman Michael Guest (MS-03), Congressman Jerry Carl (AL-01), Congressman Rick Crawford (AR-01), Congressman David Kustoff (TN-08), Congressman James Comer (KY-01), Congressman Jason Smith (MO-08), Congresswoman Mary Miller (IL-15), and Congressman Mike Bost (IL-12).
