Letlow Announces More Than $2.6 Million in DRA Investments for the Fifth District
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Julia Letlow (LA-05) today announced that the Delta Regional Authority (DRA) will invest more than $2.6 million in nine projects across Louisiana’s Fifth District.
““These substantial investments in the Fifth District will have a tremendous impact in our rural communities. I look forward to continuing to work with the Delta Regional Authority to bring home even more critical funding for our region,” Letlow said.
The funded projects include –
- $523,439 to expand Workforce Development Board SDA-83’s electrical apprenticeship programs in Monroe
- $508,910 for road improvements at the Port of Columbia
- $293,212 to replace water lines in Forest
- $291,397 to expand Workforce Development Board SDA-83’s training program for mechanics in Monroe
- $276,142 for street improvements in Wisner
- $228,400 for pump station improvements in Jonesboro
- $203,039 to rehabilitate six sewer lift stations in Cheneyville
- $165,000 for street rehabilitation in Tallulah
- $144,343 for the Louisiana Chamber of Commerce Foundation to develop a business incubator in Monroe.
This funding was allocated to the DRA through the annual appropriations process and is available through the States' Economic Development Assistance Program (SEDAP) and the Community Infrastructure Fund (CIF).
