Letlow Advocates for Louisiana Soybean Producers
WASHINGTON, D.C. – In a letter to Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins, Congresswoman Julia Letlow thanked the Trump Administration for working to open up trade markets while highlighting the ongoing need for new market access for soybean producers.
“I commend the Administration’s ongoing successes negotiating fair trade agreements and expanding market access for U.S. agriculture. These efforts are critical to strengthening America’s position in key export markets and providing meaningful support to rural communities. As these efforts continue, I encourage the Department to maintain its focus on diversifying market access, particularly for soybeans," said Congresswoman Letlow.
Letlow also highlighted the challenge of global trade disruptions currently facing producers, and how pursuing new markets can help.
“U.S. soybean producers have faced persistent challenges due to ongoing shifts in global trade patterns. While restoring and expanding access to Chinese markets remains important, we also must pursue a more diversified approach to market development. Our farmers stand ready and willing to meet this demand.”
