Duvall Joins Congresswoman Letlow as Agriculture Advisor
WASHINGTON -- Congresswoman Julia Letlow (LA-05) today announced the addition of Zellie Duvall to her staff as legislative assistant over agriculture.
Duvall brings vast agricultural experiences to the position, having served in positions at the state, congressional and federal levels.
“Zellie has seen the agricultural industry from all sides – from growing up on a farm in Georgia to working on policy at the departmental and congressional levels,” Congresswoman Letlow said. “Zellie understands agriculture and her addition to the team will serve Louisiana’s Fifth Congressional District well, especially as I sit on the House Agriculture Committee and we begin discussing the upcoming Farm Bill.
Duvall will also handle issues related to economic development, energy, small business, trade and science/technology.
Duvall most recently served as policy and congressional advisor at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), engaging House and Senate offices on issues related to farm production and conservation issues. During the past year, Duvall helped coordinate the response to Congress on the impacts the COVID-19 pandemic was having on the agriculture industry.
Prior to her role at the USDA, Duvall served as a legislative assistant for Congressman Rick Allen (R-GA), where she served as his agriculture advisor on the House Agriculture Committee. She was active in helping Allen draft, markup and pass portions of the 2018 Farm Bill.
She also served as legislative correspondent for U.S. Representative Buddy Carter (R-GA) and as a Congressional Agriculture Fellow for Congressman Austin Scott (R-GA).
Duvall, a native of Greensboro, Ga., grew up on a farm that has been in her family for generations. She received a Bachelor of Science in agriculture, with an emphasis in agricultural communication.
