Letlow delivers law enforcement funding for Louisiana communities
MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Congresswoman Julia Letlow announced she has secured $1.3 million in funding for Louisiana’s law enforcement in the 5th district.
According to Letlow the funding will be distributed through the Red River law enforcement planning council.
Representatives say the funding will be used for a variety of resources throughout Central and Northeast Louisiana including:
- Law Enforcement Equipment
- Technology
- Community Vehicle
“In order to keep our communities safe, law enforcement must have access to reliable equipment. I secured this funding so that law enforcement in our rural communities could quickly respond to emergencies and keep Louisianans safe,” said Letlow. “I will continue to use my seat on the House Appropriations Committee to support law enforcement and protect the safety of our citizens.”
Some of the following law enforcement agencies will benefit from the funding according to Letlow including:
- Catahoula Parish Sheriff’s Office
- Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office
- Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office
- LaSalle Parish Sheriff’s Office
- Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office
- Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office
- City of Alexandria Police Department
- City of Leesville Police Department
- City of Pineville Police Department
- City of Vidalia Police Department
The funding passed as part of the FY 2026 Commerce, Justice, and Science Appropriations bill which cleared Congress on Thursday, said Letlow’s representatives.
