Julia Letlow addresses antisemitism and border security following Colorado incident

June 4, 2025

Congresswoman Julia Letlow, representing Louisiana's 5th District since 2021, recently shared her thoughts on social media regarding a series of events. The posts reflect her concerns about antisemitism and border security in the United States.

On June 2, 2025, Letlow expressed her condolences to the victims of an apparent antisemitic act of terrorism in Colorado. She stated: "My prayers are with the victims of an apparent antisemitic act of terrorism in Colorado at an event supporting Israeli hostages." Letlow emphasized the alarming spread of antisemitism and called for the act to be prosecuted fully.

In a subsequent post on June 4, 2025, Letlow addressed details concerning the suspect involved in the attack. She noted: "The suspect in Sunday’s antisemitic terrorist attack was illegally in our country after overstaying a visa granted by the prior Administration." This incident prompted her to highlight the importance of securing borders and remaining vigilant against violence inspired by antisemitism.

Later that day, Letlow announced an upcoming appearance on a radio show. On June 4, she invited followers to tune into her conversation with Brian Haldane about recent developments in Washington D.C., stating: "TUNE IN: I’ll be joining @brianhaldane at 8:35 am CT this morning to chat about the latest activity in DC."

Julia Letlow has been serving as a U.S. Congress member from Louisiana since succeeding Ralph Abraham in 2021. Born in Monroe, Louisiana, she holds a BA from the University of Louisiana at Monroe and resides in Start.
